Faces
Warp Painted Woven Portraits
My portraits emerge through a process that holds both control and unraveling in tension. Painted yarns—saturated, layered, and at times resistant—are woven into structured systems that both contain and disrupt the image. Faces come into focus through shifting geometric fields, where features are suggested rather than fixed, and presence feels both intimate and slightly out of reach. These works reflect an ongoing negotiation between clarity and ambiguity, shaped by experiences of migration, caregiving, and the search for belonging.
